SANFL U18 State Squad

The SANFL is pleased to announce the players selected in the SANFL U18 State Squad for 2008.

The Squad will commence training on Monday May 12, in preparation for their first NAB AFL U18 Championship match against the number one ranked Division 2 side on
Saturday May 31 at Adelaide Oval.

With the new look NAB AFL U18 Championship format the squad will play a further 2 matches in Adelaide, then travel to Melbourne to participate in the last 2 matches of the championships.

An additional 10 reserves for the squad will be named in the coming weeks.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN UNDER 18

STATE SQUAD ANNOUNCED



The SANFL is pleased to announce the South Australian Under 18 State Squad and Reserves list for the upcoming NAB AFL Under 18 National Championships.



The State Squad consists of 32 players who have been training for the past two weeks and participated in encouraging trial matches against Woodville-West Torrens and Sturt Football Clubs.



A further 8 reserves have been named to help strengthen the depth of the side. South Australia’s first game will be played against the top ranked Division 2 qualifier Tasmania on Saturday at Adelaide Oval, commencing at 10.35am. This match will be played as a curtain raiser to the State League Match between South Australia and Victoria.



Under 18 State Coach, Brenton Phillips said, “this squad provides a lot of flexibility with key position players. Their preparation leading up to the championships has been very encouraging. These players will certainly give us a great deal of depth and provide the team with greater opportunities and a broader skill level".

SA UNDER 18 STATE SQUAD SET TO TAKE CHARGE

IN MELBOURNE

With just two games remaining in the NAB Under 18 National Championships, the South Australian squad of 25 players gets set to head to Melbourne. The squad will depart Adelaide on Friday afternoon in preparation for their two upcoming clashes.

The SA Under 18’s will take on Victoria Country on Saturday 5th July @ 12.15pm. This match will be played at Casey Fields.

SA will then challenge NSW / ACT on Wednesday @ 10.00am from the Telstra Dome. This match will be televised live on Foxtel from 10.00am.
