Ask Christian Howard...

SA belts WA despite Bennell's haul

 http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx

However, it was a relative unknown, Lewis Hender, who stole the show.

Hender, a bottom-aged player from Keith in country South Australia, starred in the first half, kicking four goals.

Glenelg defender Sebastian Tape also nullified the influence of fancied key-position prospect Jack Darling.

South Australia 8.4 14.17 17.7 19.12 (126)
Western Australia 3.9 4.4 8.9 8.13 (61)

GOALS
SA: Solly 5, Hender 4, Gray 3, Polec 2, Day 2, Schiller, Wingard, Batley
WA: Bennell 6, Nelson, Kersten

BEST
SA: Smith, Polec, Hender, Rankine, Solly, Gray, Tape, Lycett, McCarthy, Day
WA: Bennell, Jones, Wilson, Conca, Elisseou, Monaco

Awsome!

Will be there for sure.

Also keen to look at Mitch Wallis and thingo Liberatore, two of the Vic Metro stars that are headed for Western Bulldogs next year.

Vic Metro 15.10 (100)
SA 10.17 (77)

Goals: VIC - Young, Karnezis 3, Barden 2, Scheider, Caddy, Gaff, Harper, Conway, Wallis, Michie

SA - Fitzgerald 4, Polec, Lycett, Day, Gorring, Smith, Gray.

I was at the game, SA soundly beaten.

Only stats I have are Matt Snook (20 possessions)
McCarthy 23
Hender 7 (didnt look switched on at all)
Tape 10

Matt Snook had a great battle with Tom Liberatore

Our tall defenders (Tape and McCarthy) spent much of the first quarter running under the ball. McCarthy took some good grabs but a few clangers with his kicking as well.

Hender had a lousy day.

Well the State Team fly out tomorrow (Fri) to play 2 matches. Sat V Tasmania, Wed V Vic Country.

Means we wont have the boys who played so well in last weeks matches though, or Bec Perry our Head Trainer, as the team will be staying in Melbourne for the time between the 2 matches.

Good Luck Lads !
