RESERVES / RELL'S WRAP UP

Coming off a big win in round 2 we knew that this week would not be as easy so our main focus was to embrace the challenge. Playing against the bigger bodies of Norwood, it was good to see our younger players hold their own and no doubt they have learnt some lessons about how to grind out the physical side of the game.
With the weather providing some challenges our players didn’t handle the ball as well as Norwood and as a result of that were not able to take the ascendancy of the game for prolonged periods. We had patches where we were in good positions and moved the ball the way we wanted to and showed positives in both offensive and defensive phases of the game.
It was a good challenge for our playing group and we came away with many things to work on both structurally and fundamentally. In the end we ended up going down by 17 points and the game has shown we have plenty to build on. We now look forward to playing the Eagles in round 4 who always provide a strong contest.
