South 10.7.67

The Bay Reserves played a stand alone game Friday night against South Adelaide. We started slowly which has been a bit of a trend we have been trying to quell and at the first break we trailed by 3 points.

The second quarter saw us settle and put together some solid passages of play to have a 5 goal quarter and hold South to a single goal. We came into the third quarter determined to continue putting on score board pressure but we couldn’t achieve this and had a poor quarter where we were out worked and the opposition kicked an impressive 6.2.

We were able to stem the flow with 3 goals of our own and we went into the last with a 9 point lead. Credit to the players they lifted their work-rate for the last quarter and went on to win by 31 points keeping South to another single goal quarter. Next week our League side play Adelaide on Saturday at Gliderol and a Reserves hybrid team will suit up against the State U18’s for a ’scratch’ match as the pre-game to the League game.
