ROUND 2 2023 U18S SEASON
THEBARTON OVAL
SUNDAY 2ND APRIL, 1:15PM

Glenelg ... 1.3 ... 2.4 ... 4.10 ... 6.11 (47)
Sturt ... 1.3 ... 2.5 ... 3.5 ... 6.6 (42)

Two late goals kicked by Tiger Anders McShane rescued the Torrens University SANFL U18 premiership points for Glenelg as it edged out Sturt by just five points at Thebarton Oval.

Despite dominating possessions (383 to 252) and inside 50 entries (52 to 36), the Bays found themselves trailing by seven points on the verge of time-on in the fourth quarter.

But McShane’s consecutive majors within three minutes proved to be enough as his side secured its first win of the year.

McShane, who also collected 33 disposals, Archer Rouvray (22 disposals, two goals) and Conor Gluyas (22 disposals, one goal) were high among the Bays’ best players.

Sturt’s Ted Newman (20 disposals), Connor Mills (21 disposals, five tackles) and Henry Maerschel (15 disposals) fought hard for their team.

Goals: Anders McShane (2.1), Archer Rouvray (2.0), Conor Gluyas (1.1), Zac Earl (1.0)
Best Players: Anders McShane, Archer Rouvray, Conor Gluyas, Bodie Ryan, Benjamin Dewhirst

Under 16's back to earth this week and also inaccurate in front of goals.
